I assume that one of the distinctive features of the 4th and 5th RD bunting issues was the increase of the overall size of the flag by a few inches. According to the flag data sheet that Mr. Madaus sent me on the 51st NCST flag the dimensions are 50" x 51" and the stars are 5" in diameter with the cross being 5-5 1/2" wide. I realize we can't expect complete conformity but this a bit larger than the Meade/Brunk flag if the dimensions you were given are correct. Does the size of the Meade/Brunk flag match those dimensions of a typical Staunton Depot flag? Having said all of that I must confess and agree with Tom that from the photos the border edging sure looks like wool bunting. Cheers!
