The Medich Battalion formed the Hollow Square last October just prior to the Battle of Perryville. I participated and can testify that it was a first time manuever for most of us and surely took an inordinate amount of time. It was a drill with no cavalry.

But....it looked pretty on top of that Kentucky hill. :)
