First off I clearly understand your philosophical position on the War of the Rebellion.
However, to make sure we do not misinform on the forum I must point out that the term Tory actually refers to members of a British political party of the revolutionary time (and still exists today as a conservative party in Great Britain that espouses small non-interfering government ala Margaret Thatcher) that Lord North belonged to as Prime Minister from 1770 to 1782. Lord North was succeded by Marquis of Rockingham (Whig), 1782–1782 and the Earl of Shelburne (Whig), 1782–1783. Thus your use of Loyalist would be proper, and the terms Tory, Whig, Conservative, Coalition, refer to an individuals political party affiliation not necessarily their position on Colonial independence.
