I would say that educators are like every other profession---doctors, lawyers, police officers, mechanics, etc.---you have some very, very good ones and you have some very, very bad ones...and most are probably somewhere in the middle. So when discussing education as a whole, just like discussing the medical profession or the legal profession as a whole, one can really only talk about their personal experiences and the general trends or expectations in the field.
