Re: Presenting history to the student.

My take on how to address these problems is probably where you and I differ. Now, if you're talking about the shotgun totin', yee-haw yellin, N-Word screamin' night riders of the South

Actually Jim I mean just the opposite. Recently read the book "Redemption, The Last Battle of the Civil War." Well I'm in the process of reading it, when I go to the bookstore. I'm not going to spend money on it. In the book toward the end the author list some bad traits that he says all whites say Blacks have. He then says that these are white traits, that all white southerners and northerners have... I come from a long line of Quakers who believed all men should be free, which I also believe. I however don't believe that all folks from any one part of the country are more racist than others. I do however think that certain minority groups, race hustlers (my opinion) play the race card to get their way and position many whites in a defensive way where they feel that they and they alone are the only folks to ever have a racist view.

It is also my opinion that the liberal media promotes this. Case in point, the Duke rape case, lots of folks had them lads hanged. Got a lot of attention didn't it Jim? The murder and torture of a young white couple in Knoxville however by some black thugs escaped that media frezy, I wonder why? George Purvis, Martin Carmack, myself and a host of others worked day and night to see that attention was brought to this issue. When I posted to Purvis, he and Carmack got my drift from the first. I shall in future try to be clearer in my post. I do however feel it a mistake to impute motives to others because they are from another section of the country or read between the lines. I have no problem voicing my opinion to you, Jamie or anyone else. I never have.

Chase.
