Exactly Frank exactly. Most people just have no interest until they want to voice and opinion and then what they say is usually so far off the mark, it makes them look foolish.
A couple years back Evelyn talked me into going to the Pleasant Hill reenactment in Louisiana. My first real one to honest and I loved it. The following year I took the grandkids. They loved every aspect about the affair, the weapons, the dress, the characters etc. One granddaughter bought a 5 buck Confederate Flag necklace made like a dogtag. Cost me $40.00 to have her 3 grandfathers names engraved on it. She never takes it off, priceless, money well spent.
Not sure how to get the young'uns involved. That worked for me, at least for a time. Otherwise, I just don't know.
