Here's my take George. Though I tilt toward the North, I certainly believe both sides had good points and bad. People speak of an open discussion. That ain't going to happen until people are willing to openly discuss race in this country. Slavery existed in the South, that's a fact of that time. It has also existed in other places and with other groups of people. None-the-less so long as certain special interest groups can play the down-trodden-race card without an open discussion things won't change. That also includes talks on the Civil War. Race was a factor and needs to be talked about with out one side North or South or one race getting all the credit or blame.
