Gotta tell you Evelyn, if all that junk happened to the bldg where we worship, I would be sad for the extra expense that it would saddle the congregation with to clean it up. I also know that the first thing the pastor would do would be to have everyone pray for the perp(s).
Again, the bldg is not the church! Buildings come and go, and have no special value beyond their fleeting historical interest, if any.
Like, when all the grand cathedrals of old Europe become mosques in the next 15-50 years, are we supposed to pine over that? They'll have bigger problems, I assure you!
The color of people in my previous post has nothing to do with the larger discussion. It was simply a talking point to illustrate how God's agenda may possibly be different from our own. As you might guess, His priorities may quite surprise us.
Likewise, God's hand in human history will quite likely surprise us, if He ever deigns to share it with us. Not that we would understand it, as Job realized to his chagrin.
