Are you discounting the deaths of 340,000 Union sons who would never return home to enjoy their intact farms and railroads? Earlier, I started to jump in on the discussion between you, Chase and Mike. I was honestly going to support Chase and Mike's right to revel in the victory of the Union and the Grand Review. Then Mike started insinuating God was on one side or the other and I couldn't take part.

I really am surprised at the lack of balance we have here. I had ancestors who participated in the Grand Review. Thank Goodness, that means they survived the war. I had ancestors who died or lost everything at the hands of these men who marched in the Grand Review. I can celebrate the dignity of those ragged emaciated men whose Grand Review was along the dusty roads of a devasted South. I can also celebrate the victorious Union soldiers who bought their right to the Grand Review with their blood.

Please honor the men of both sides. Look at the pictures of old warriors shaking hands over the stone wall at Gettysburg. Can't we learn from their example?
