Re: Who God Sided With in the WBTS
In Response To: Who God Sided With in the WBTS ()

You based your assumption on the very human attitude that because one side won over another, God was for that side. God does not work that way, because he knows the end of all things. God knew before he created this earth that the South would lose that War. But man didn't know that fact.

God wasn't setting on the sidelines taking bets. All things on earth work together for the Glory of God. Many times in the Bible God sends punishment, such as war, upon a land to draw them closer to God, and to prepare them for his greater work.

The South until a few years ago was called the "Bible Belt". In my small town there are 147 Churches of all dominations. You can not go 5 blocks in any direction without finding a Church.

That was the legecy of the American Civil War to the South, because of the destitution that was brought on them, because they lost that War. When people have nothing else they turn to God. I would not trade that legacy for all the victories of all the armies of the world, because it gave me the oppertunity to find Christ.

Until a few years ago that Legacy was in every nook and corner all across the southland. Do you think that it matters to God who won such a trival thing as the American Civil War, or World War I, or World War II, for that matter? Man has always said claimed that God was on this side or that. Even the Nazi said that God was on their side.

No, my God is bigger than those things. My God has always had a plan for this world including it destruction in the endtime. All these worldly events are meaningless to God except that they work together for the fullfillment of Gods plan, and his purpose, not the purposes of man.
