During the war many kinds of property was destroyed by the armies on both sides. What evidence (other than anecdotal and emotional evidence) do you have to support your statement that the Union army "made a point of descrating churches and cemeteries in the South"? And, what is your source for saying that "it was with Abe's blessing"?
I'm a researcher by nature and by training, and I have a hard time accepting views that can't be substantiated by sources.
