Oh no Mr. Pitts, I'm not at all offened with your stories. I could in fact tell a few of my own. Story telling is a wonderful talent. About the Home Guard, many were older and loyal to their cause. A few were younger and exemped for whatever reason from regular military service. And some quite frankly used tactics and took advantage of the times with a skill that would make the KGB envious. My point is your statement about not wasting bullets when you have good rope around. It struck me that you were rather in favor of that proposition. Quite in favor of it. Being only a High School graduate my reading must must have been at fault. Telling Home Guard stories not only does not bother me, I find them quite interesting, whoever ancestors may have been involved.
