It just seems that blaming the south for the total slavery issue seems to be the political correct popular thing to do. For example the less educated of our society thinks that the Article 4, clause which established the legalaity of slavery within the Constitution of the United States was solely a "Southern" thing. That this clause was placed within the Constitution solely to placate the southern slave owning states in the 1780's. When in fact two Northern States New York and New Jersey had a deep monitary interest in the slave trade at that time. Getting these two states to join the "New United States" was critical to the founding of this country. Does freeing their New York slaves in 1827 totally relieve them of their role in the situation that occurred just 32 years later in 1860?

To eliminate mention of this part of history creates a false history. How do we overcome our social problems today, How do we create understanding between each other, when we don't even know how we got here. In other words our history is a lie. And if this portion is a lie, then whatelse of our history is a Lie? How do we make any decisions based upon our past history and culture when we don't even know what that history was?

Most of our arguments on this board are exactly that. People arguing the same points of history, when you have to ask do they truely know their history in the first place.
