He is implying the South was fighting for the institution of slavery and the Yankees came down to free them. That is just not true. And yes this is the same old thing he posts to every issue, do a search of the board and find out for yourself.
I never said that slavery wasn't a cause of secession. Show me where I did. Fact of the matter is I believe I was the first person to post a link to the Secession Declarations to this board. So yes I do understand what they state.
Lincoln a 3rd party??? How on earth did he become less important than some jackleg from Mississippi addressing the secession convention? Lincoln said as much or more against blacks as any Southern man, proven by his statements that was posted and sourced. It is not realistic to use the speeches of Southern men without showing the Northern view of slavery also, that is just being biased.
Lincoln was the cause of the war period. Without aggression approved by Lincoln, there never would have been a war. Lincoln's problems about what to do with the slaves and the new territories were solved by secession.
