Within your apoplectic mind you are making a lot of assumptions.

You were inform of my textile experience some years ago but I guess you have slept since then. In those thirty years in a textile lab I co-wrote the class outline on textile history for two textile schools, after a few years I decided teaching was not my thing.

You need to think in the time period, not a Webster dictionary, ask your conservator if dress silk is suitable for flag making, or if the many cotton cloth patterns or wool was suitable for flag making, in the correct time period, they all were used. If they ran short on bunting then the light weight weave of flannel would have been perfect substitute, flannel made of cotton or wool.

I gave you the location of all of the documentation you need that the valley troops received flags from the Staunton depot, I’m not going to do your research for you. I paid Howard and Fonda for their research, I wouldn’t feel right feed off of it without compensation.
