The above record is the only one listed for him in A. B. Booth's "Records of Louisiana Confederate Soldiers and Louisiana Confederate Commands". According to Dr. Arthur W. Bergeron, Jr.'s book, "Guide to Louisiana Confederate Military Units, 1861-1865", Company C's nickname was the "Long Rifles" and their captain was Joseph Marcou. The regiment was also known as the Cazadores Espanoles commanded by Colonel Juan Miangolara.

As to your relative's date of discharge, it can not be ascertained other than to say that this local New Orleans militia unit and most others were disbanded upon the capture of that city in late April of 1862. Since it says that he was on a (muster) roll dated April 2, 1862 in New Orleans, I would suspect that he was present up to that date although it is unlikely that a date of actual enlistment for him can be found.
