If you go to this site - www.nps.gov/civilwar/soldiers-and-sailors-database.htm it will answer one of your questions. Click on soldiers and enter DeAngulo as his last name and J under first name. Click on search and it will provide his name and unit. Click on his unit's name and on the next page click on "View Regiment's Soldiers". It will show 1080 results (52 pages) of names of every soldier in the regiment. If you peruse them, you will see most have names with Spanish origin. I know of no photographs of the unit that still exists, BUT you can find one of Juan Miangolarra (spelling different) by going to google then entering the book category and entering his name. The photo appears on page 93 of "Portraits of Conflict: A Photographic History of Louisiana in the Civil War" by Bobby Robetrs and Carl Moneyhon. I also found information on Miangolarra's papers at LSU. Since they do cover the time peiod your relative was a member, the papers MAY shed more light on the Cazadoes Espanoles.
