Re: Crescent Regiment State Militia

For example, the muster roll for Capt Andrew F Haynes' Company, Crescent Regiment, Louisiana Militia, reads as follows:

"Ordered into service of the State of Louisiana" for a period of ninety days. Date of organization is given as Mar 5, 1862, New Orleans LA. Governor Moore almost immediately submitted the regiment to the Confederate War Department. It remained in service until disbanded by General Bragg on June 3, 1862. Under his orders (which were later remanded), most of the men were reassigned to the 18th Louisiana Regiment.
