Myself I have retired from one job and work at another. I have never been able to work anywhere for a year and start a company, even as a Carpenter, I did not have enough experience to do so in a year.
But you aren't seeing yourself forced to live a way of life you do not want. Until you can imagine that, then you can't understand the Southerner of yesteryear. We are talking about War years, not today.
