[How would history judge a president who failed to take any and all measures to preserve his country? Do we expect a president to be a moral icon, or do we expect him to do whatever it takes to defend the nation? Is a president, who adheres strictly to the law and the Constitution, but loses the war and allows the country to be destroyed, a patriot or a traitor?]
Questions , for the mind to ponder,,,,
A question to debate a question, how would we judge a President who did everything to further his cause no matter how legal or illegal. When he did everything to cause his Country to be imperiled in the first place?
I expect a President to do what he swore to do at his inauguration, Preserve and Protect the Consitution. Trampling the Rights of citizens wasn't in his oath, or yours as a Naval Officer or mine as a State Peace Officer. He has a military to defend the country and Police Officers to enforce the laws. We can't let Maryland happen again.
I can't answer that last one Bryan unless you figure he is a man of his word. I would say he was a righteous man who did what he could without taking away the rights of the citizenry. But this is a loaded question, not by you, but can only be answered hypothetically. I don't think anyone can honestly say what he would think in that case.
