Boz, I was hoping that someone more articulate than me would jump in here and post exactly what you did. The way people are citing the Declaration of Independence as a legal precedent leads me to believe that a lot of folks played hooky from civics class.
The Declaration of Independence is probably the noblest, most profound civil document ever written by man, but it has no force or effect of law.
