Doyle, you have just changed the subject. Rather than answer a clearly stated direct and reasonable question . . .
So, I say again - Can you point to any historical document, just one, that even suggests, if not declares that a "Right of Secession" was at any time during the drafting of the Constitution and the Bill of Rights understood by any one involved in any way with the creation of either document to be an Amendment IX "other" non-enumerated right, or is that simply an assumption on your part?
. . . you have attempted to compare "secession" - a well defined, unambiguous, and broadly understood term with "Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness" - three terms that are not well defined, ambiguous and understood by different people to mean different things - all in an attempt to sidestep addressing the question I asked.
May I suggest that the "Pursuit of Happiness" is so vague in its meaning as to preclude making it numerated Right and that is why it does not appear among enumerated Rights; whereas the "Right of Secession" has only one meaning. So I ask again,
Can you point to any historical document, just one, that even suggests, if not declares that a "Right of Secession" was at any time during the drafting of the Constitution and the Bill of Rights understood by any one involved in any way with the creation of either document to be an Amendment IX "other" non-enumerated right, or is that simply an assumption on your part?
