Re: Fort Sumter and amphibious operations

True, I definitely think that the Confederates felt they were responding to a threat. My point is that no actual reinforcements made it to the fort, and there was certainly no actual attack against Charleston by any federal forces. The Confederates fired first, at the Star of the West in January and at Fort Sumter in April.
