Do you think that the veterans of the Civil War, or World War II, had any different reactions or reflections after their wars? But, I have talked to many of those veterans and their reflections are much the same. They saw the same horrors and wonder, why did I survive when my buddys didn't? And even my dad, whose story I have already related, who stayed at home, felt guilty because he was exempted and didn't go.
