Many WBTS generals were West Point grads, and were imbued with "Duty, Honor, Country". At least later in WWII, many generals had come through OCS, and maybe were not so conditioned; but that is probably beyond the scope of my comparison, as there were generals in both wars who rose above their lack of training.
