Captain Ferrell signed a requisition for Ordnance Stores Dec. 7, 1863 at Courtland, Ala. recording:

"I Certify, That there are 150, Non-Commissioned Officer, Musicians and Privates, under my command . . . " It appears that there were four guns in his battery.

Over time, he signed requisitions for Forage for anywhere from 88 to 114 animals.
