When Roddey was sent back to north Alabama in April 1864, and Hannon's command stayed with Wheeler and Johnston, Lt. Nathan Davis' section of Ferrell's Battery remained in Georgia. They served with Felix Robertson's cavalry under Wheeler. That section contained Chambers Co., AL soldiers, as well as Troup Co. GA. The other section went with Roddey. After they reached Atlanta, I'm not sure what happened to Davis' section.....Did they rejoin Roddey after Atlanta? Roddey did show back up in Georgia and engage the Federal cavalry raids in late July.
