That should be Florence ALABAMA, not Mississippi. Roddey's cavalry command never operated any further west than Tupelo MS during the war. I would not describe any element of Roddey's cavalry as being involved in the Vicksburg Campaign despite the references to it. This command never got nearer than 150 - 200 miles from Vicksburg during the war.
