You said-I saw the Special Orders # 83 you posted where it says "Chief of Arty to assign a Btry to each Bgde, retaining 3 Btrys for reserve & transfer balance to the chief of Arty, Army of Miss". Was this order carried out? Meaning Beauregard's army got the remaining batteries aside from those that got assigned to the brigades in Van Dorn's three divisions and the three kept for the artillery brigade?

I haven’t made a detailed study of Beauregard’s Army after Shiloh and thus am unqualified to comment on units that may have been transferred to his army. As the Army of West began to arrive in Corinth, Beauregard did temporarily absorb some of the earlier units in anticipation of an early enemy attack.

Here is what I do know about transferring batteries from the Army of the West to Beauregard:

5/10/62 Hqs, Western Dept, Corinth-G O #41 issued by Gen Beauregard
III Maj Francis Shoup is appointed Inspector of Arty and ordnance and will report to Col Gill chief of Arty and ordnance

5/13/62 Col Gill writes to Col Clark chief of Arty Army of the West-Gen Beauregard directs after the assignment of a Btry to each Bgde of your army, you are to hold 2 Btrys in reserve for your army subject to Gen Van Dorn’s orders or these Hqs. You will direct one of your Btrys to report for duty to Gen Bragg’s Hqs-the remaining Btrys will then be directed to report to Maj Shoup Inspector of Arty to be placed in position for the approaching battle. Have this disposition of your reserve Arty made at once

5/14/62 Col Gill to Col Clark chief of Arty Army of the West-Yours of 5/13 received. Baker’s Btry of the 3 Btrys ordered to report to Maj Shoup has been ordered to Pocahontas-neither Bryan or Gorham’s Btrys have been reported to Maj Shoup. It is important that these Btrys should be in position. Bryan’s is at Grant Junction but partially equipped and can for the present remain there, but Gorham’s must forthwith be reported to Maj Shoup harnessed and ready for action. Barrett’s Btry will be in like manner at once reported to Gen Bragg. Please give the necessary orders.

Addendum to previous post:

2/14/62 2/14 Hogg was commissioned by his close friend, President Davis, as a B Gen. He was given command of the 1st Tex Bn DC, McCray's Ark Bn, the 10th and 11th Tex Inf [DC], and Goodes' (later Douglas') Btry, all brigaded for service with the Army of the West.

Hogg arrived soon after the battle of Shiloh and took formal command of his Bgde.

[Note-I'm sure you have noticed by now that Cabell was sort of a wild card Brigade commander as used by Van Dorn.
He replaced Hogg for a while after Hogg died. Then he replaced Rust [back to Arkansas] in command of that Brigade.]
