That speech makes it sound as though every ablebodied man in the south owned a slave and was going to die for it.Since he was a Highly regarded lawyer he has his own opinion which would seem to make it a fit for the whole south.Those teenage Volunteers where not dying for some rich mans slave.I dont care how you explain it , just boils down to greed.
