Well said, except the part where its always been taught that way. That depends on where it was taught. In the South, the textbooks in the past seems to differ somewhat than those from the North. One old school textbook that I have does not even refer to it as the Civil War but The War Between the States. I never have believed those who have said that the Victors write the history. They need to get out more because there many, Many books written by Southerners, like Jefferson Davis for example. Of course now many of these books are being discredited as lies and exaggerations by the PC crowd.
