Re: What Were People Discussing in 1860?

Music surely does make some people get to a place they'd never believe they would. Y'all have heard me talk of my family branch who were more involved with things on the wrong side of the law. That same family line has been said to have some music gene that's quite common. Well, even after 10 years of piano lessons and singing in the choir, I can say I did not inherit that gene. There are 2 who have made some success in it. One wrote some music while he was playing ball for the, I think Red Sox, but he's making his living as a High School baseball coach. Another has a list of credintials I had to look up. I thought the ball coach was just padding that story. I was wrong. This other cousin, in the Helton line, has been highly successful and even though he's retired sort of some artist still call him when they wish to record. He's on all of Toby Keith's albums. He's played with so may big names I'd not know where to start. He's a studio musician (keyboard) and a producer. I saw him on the PBS thing they run every so often Chet Atkins and Friends. Clayton is the keyboard/piano man. They live not too far from where our common ancestor lost his arm at Murfreesboro. At least, they have been able to stay out of trouble. That's a real accomplishment for us.
