Nope. Let me add that almost every newspaper I've read mentions the issue of states rights, not just once, but many times. High tariffs were a concern to wealthy Southerners but I've yet to find an editorial printed in 1859-61 about it.

Here's a hint. Many Southerners could not support Senator Douglas because of his stand on the states rights issue.
