Some of Davis's enemies have attempted to enumerate all the horrible mistakes he made to lose the War. Still, the Confederacy lasted four years fighting against staggering odds, unable to replenish resources while its people were often starving. And many who hated Davis at the end of the War, learned to admire him for being a genuine martyr who never apologized for being a partriot (same cannot be said for some of his critics). And who gets all the glory now but Abe Lincoln, The Great Centralizer who called for this subjugation of our ancestors.
