Alan and Dennis, I will know more about W.T. and W.Y. after I can get to the archives. My opinion, and that is just what it is, was based on the fact that W.Y. lived in the LaGrange census district during 1860, and the road from LaGrange north for some distance is called Mooty Bridge Rd. It is off this road that the cemetery is located. So I am assuming that W.T. lived on the north side of LaGrange. So if that is true, we still do not know what year he married, or where he and Mary might have lived during the latter years of the war. I am grabbing at air now, but West Point is 16 miles from LaGrange, so unless Mary was with him, or she stayed at home, I assume that he did not travel that distance every day, just to return home that night. And again I am not nearly as familiar with State Guards as you all are. I am only familiar with one ferry below LaGrange, or if there was a bridge crossing the river at West Point. Hopefully I will find out all that when I get to the archives and historical society. I do know there was several men in the 37th Militia on this side of the river, Captain Boykin being one. Which from the area I think he lived to Capt. Boykin's was probably around 4 miles. So as for now, I am thinking they were 2 different men, but I am not convinced of that, just thinking that way. When I find out anything I will be sure to let all of you know. thanks again for all your help.
