To tell you the truth, being that I'm a Central Mississippian and a Southern Alabamian, I don't feel any antimosity towards the Southern Unionist, especially from the Mountains. I don't think anyone in my area does. To me they had the right to live as they pleased; secession and the war really wasn't their issue. I have kin from that area, and my ancestors came from there. You understand us better than the Northerners and we understand you. I know there is still antimosity between Southerners on this point but I believe it is localized to those areas where both lived close to one another.
