"I never heard of one who faled to cash that Givmint check"
Well Bryan you have heard of one now..back in the winter of 1954 I was layed off (the railroad) for about two months. Rather than file a unemployment claim I borrowed a team of horses and a wagon and followed the corn pickers, picking up ear corn for half...made about ten dollars a day...which was little more than I would have drawn from the Givmint.
I just didn`t want no "hand out"...I have never drawn a cent that I didn`t earn.
