A marvelous part of the state... I've roots in Montgomery, Pike, and Audrain counties. Great corn and bean country then and now.

Have you ever looked at the migration patterns along the Missouri River from TN, KY, and the Carolinas? Its quite fascinating.

In my family tree from Mid Missouri, I've a slave owner who fought for the Union in a PEMM unit. 3 others that were in various EMM units. 1 who avoided the war by going to California, 2 who joined a real CSA unit and 2 others that I think fought whoever they happened to come across or had the most money to steal, clearly they had little regard for authority of any kind.

Forgive me for being confused sometimes ... :>)
