My Great Grand father WILLIAM LAMINACK was with the 9th South Carolina Infantry from in organization. And with the Palmetto South Carolina SS for the remained of the war being absent from the field of honor for only the 6 months he was furloughed home to recovery from his wounds at Gaines Mill.
Enlisted as Private July 8, 1861 in the Pickens Sentinals from Lexington County, Company "K" of the 9th South Carolina Infantry at Ridgeville South Carolina.
Spring, 1862 9th South Iarolina Inf Regiment failed to reorganize
Company "K" 9th SC Reorganized into Company "F" of the Palmetto South Carolina Sharpshooters, May 1862.
William Laminack was wounded severely in the thigh on June 27th, 1862 at Gaines Mill in an engagement with the 16th Michigan Infantry. Invalided home for recovery 6 months.
Returned to the regiment in late 1862 and served until the end of the War surrendering with the Regiment at Appomattox Courthouse April 9, 1865.
Listed on the Appomattox parole lists of Company "F"
