Hi Guys...
Have any of you heard of the "seed corn"? I don't know much but have heard they were the youngsters allowed to join towards the end of the war.
I have a gg-uncle who fits that bill. His story was that he was too small for a regular gun so they provided him with a special smaller one. He was about 14 years old.
I got lucky and found his application for headstone for veterans 1945. It specifies he received a pension (I can find no paperwork for that) and that he was in Company H of Longstreet Division of the PSS. I can find no info on him or anything about this company. He was B.N. Scates.
The headstone was approved so I assume this info is correct. But I can find no records on any of this. Can anyone help? Thanks for reading!
