I appreciate your feelings about Webb and felt the same way earlier. Then my wife checked Webb's book out of the library and paid it her ultimate compliment -- she refused to return it. So we've had to pay for another library book.

Over time I've read many of the passages she liked. Let's leave it at this -- I'm not about to say I agree with many of Webb's political positions. However, I really appreciate what he's written about our Confederate ancestors, and suspect he's among the few in Washington who would feel comfortable at an SCV meeting.
