Mike maybe you should keep this phrase in mind when you quoting yankee propraganda regarding the WBTS.
I have found only one of my relatives who supported the British in the Rev War (Jonas Bedford) he was a planter in SC and after the war he moved north and his descendants fought for the "union" in WBTS.
I was a bit surprised to find that the British compensated him for the losses he suffered during the Rev War.
I still consider him the be a "T" in both wars..
