James, Alan is capable of defending his own post but I do wish to say that I bet Alan bases his opinions on more than those two articles. Maybe he'll weigh in later. On the other hand, you certainly had a life worth noting but you are basing your opinions of an entire region of the country on the experiences you have had, discounting all other views. Oh well, just another minor point we can agree to disagree on.
As for Carl Perkins... I had the great pleasure of meeting him in Alexandria, Louisiana once and he gave me one of his own guitar picks as a keepsake.
