Ann,
I do know a little about that club. It still exists and is now called D.A.N.K. and forgive my spelling but it stands for Deutch Amerikan National Klub or something like that. There are a lot of Germans in Springfield. As a matter of fact the north side of the city at one time was all German. They were German Catholics and at St. Peter and Pauls church (their parish) they spoke German in the elementary school up until the middle 1930's.
I had some friends (now passed away) who were very active. I don't know where the national headquarters is located but they have a monthly newpaper that they mail out to all memebers. I have read it in the past and it is kind of interesting to me to follow something like that. I don't know what the name used to be, but I would bet that DANK is the out growth of the old group.
