You are welcome. As Paul stated there was a large population in St. Louis. There was and still is a very large population of Germans west of St. Louis in Herman (wine country)and Union and one other that for the moment slips my mind. Ah, Washington. I knew I would remember. I think the ones that are west of St. Louis are German/Pole if I am not mistaken. It seems to me that back in those days various nationalities flocked together. Maybe not in a ghetto so much but in the same towns or in larger towns in the same neighborhoods. I remember growing up we have Italian, Greek, Slavic, German,etc. neighborhoods. Probably a lot of that before the 50's in the last century.
